Product Love: The Makeup All-Rounder

If you've been around here for a while, you probably know that the Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer is my all time favourite product -my island product, if you may. But if I were allowed to take one more product with me to that island, this would be the one. Why? Because I can do just so much with it. This is the Maybelline Bold Matte Lipstick in MAT1.

This is one of the lipsticks from Maybelline's Bold Matte range (duh), but I actually don't wear it as a bold lipstick very often. Instead, I use this bright little thing as more of an everyday lipstick. As a tint.
I have already done an entire post reviewing the Bold Matte lipsticks, but I wanted to dedicate this one to simply this particular one and how I like to wear it.

This is one of those products that has left my stash of lipsticks and has found a permanent home in my bag. Since it's matte, it's naturally a favourite of mine. But it isn't the kind of matte that completely dries out your lips and can be a little uncomfortable to wear. Instead, it actually glides on quite smoothly and even leaves a sheen of sorts, one that lasts at least for a bit and mattes down in a while. It also lasts beautifully and leaves a stain as it wears off.

I find the best way to wear this subtly is to dot this on on bare lips (without a thick coat of lipbalm, or it won't last too long). My lips aren't naturally a pink colour (not this pink, anyway) so what you see in that picture above is all Maybelline. It isn't too much product which is probably why it looks as if I don't have lipstick on but that's the best part.
Another thing I do with this, which may sound a little old school but believe me it works, is use it as a cream blush. It creates the most natural flush if you blend it well enough, and since it's a matte lipstick, doesn't feel greasy on the cheeks and lasts long, too! Just make sure that you never apply it directly to your face from the bullet, but put some on the back of your hand and use your fingers to apply it lightly to your cheeks.

If I want a little more colour, I dot some more on my lips and blend it with my fingers so it looks more natural and less lipstick-y. This is my version of a No Makeup Makeup look. When I have two minutes to get dressed in the morning, I do concealer, brows and throw this in my bag, and I'm good to go.

Do you have a makeup all rounder?
