The Perfect Base? My Current Favourite Face Products

I have come to realize that no matter how much or how little eye or lip makeup you wear, if your skin looks great, you look great. Which is why I decided to go ahead and get myself some good face makeup.

I decided to stick with products that I've heard a lot of good things about, which is why you're seeing a lot of cult favourites here.

To start off, I got the Garnier BB Cream. I wanted something light and easy and this seemed like the perfect option. And now that I use it a lot, I've really become a fan. What I like about this is that it is light, and unlike the Maybelline BB cream, it actually moisturizes my skin and spreads easily. It also has an SPF 24, which a sunscreen-lazy person like me will always appreciate. It brightens my skin up to some extent and makes it look smoother. It's low coverage but then again, I wasn't looking for a foundation. It does it's job and I really do like it. (It also has a pleasant scent!)
I like to set it with my Rimmel Stay Matte Powder. I was so excited when I got this product because I've heard so many good things about it. I think it's a great one for the price it comes at and it has a great shade range as well -definitely worth a try if you like powders and haven't tried this one.

And my favourite from the lot: the Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Concealer. Its called a brightening concealer and boy, does it live up to it's name! I can proudly say that this is my favourite product of all time. It does such an amazing job concealing darkness under the eyes and makes you look super bright and fresh. I got it around a month ago and I've used it so much ever since. I don't have particularly bad skin but my under eye circles live up to my 3 a.m. sleeping routine. Which is why some concealing and brightening there can make a world of difference. I may do a concealer routine post sometime 'cause I think I found the perfect combination of products for bright eyes.

So those are my favourite face products at the moment. Let me know what yours are so I can try out some more new things!

    1. It isn't high coverage or anything so I think it's okay if you go one shade up or down. But for reference, I have a medium skin tone and I use 005 Silky Beige.

  2. It seems like a good idea for summer :)

  3. This is a great idea for summer, especially for the gym! I know that sounds crazy but I love light coverage in the gym, and hate wasting my high end products! So I'll be looking into these drugstore options thanks to you!

  6. Love the Maybelline Luni Touch Concealer. Perfect for brightening the under-eye area! I've been using it for sometime not. I had also purchased the Maybelline BB Cream but somehow find it to be thick and cakey. Yet to try the Garnier one. And I'm not sure if Rimmel products are available here. For foundation, I use Loreal which is super-blendable and gives excellent coverage. I also have the Maybelline foundation which I use sometimes but Loreal wins hands down.

    Your blog is fun :)
Even I've got a little blog of my own and would really like for you to check it out and give some feedback/comment.

    Cheers!
