My Go-to Black, Smudgy Eye

The monsoons have hit Mumbai and it's so hard to look half as decent as you do in the cooler months of the year. My clothing options are limited, my hair goes frizzy and my makeup goes on a full-on smudge mode. In the most unflattering way possible. The humidity kills everything. So I decided that since everything on my eyes is going to smudge anyway, why not do the deed myself and smudge it strategically? So here's what I came up with.

Honestly, there's nothing too innovative about this, but I thought I'd share it with you guys, anyway, because it's what I've been sporting on my eyes every single day and I find it makes up for the lack of effort taken elsewhere in my outfit.
I start by using my Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner to line my eyelids. I keep the line quite thick and don't bother to make it look perfect. Next, I use the Maybelline Colossal Kajal to line my waterline. I'm not a huge fan of this product, mostly because it smudges on me, but it works for this look, so I'm trying to finish it up this way.
Then, using a matte black eyeshadow on a tiny shader brush, I mess around with the edges of the eyeliner on my eyelid and also bring some of the eyeshadow down on my lower lash line. I use the matte black from Lakme's Moondust Eyeshadow Quad which released ages ago, but any matte black eyeshadow which is not strongly pigmented should do. This basically makes the eyeliner look less pronounced and more soft despite the fact that I'm actually wearing quite a thick line of eyeliner. I finish off with some mascara and that's all.
I feel like, after bailing on eyeliner for the past few months, it has re-entered my life with a bang, and even though this entire thing is a pain to take off at night, I'm definitely loving this black, smudgy, smokey, messy, I-love-black eyeliner phase.
What's been your favourite look to deal with the humidity?
